Atlantic Union College (AUC), in its teach-out agreement last year with Mount Wachusett Community College (WMCC), continued to assist the last AUC nursing class in completing their life-long goal of becoming nurses. On May 17, 2012, 28 AUC students graduated with their associate degree in nursing from WMCC. The pinning ceremony was held on Friday evening, May 18, before sunset, where approximately 140 students were pinned.
In the process of working with WMCC, all 28 AUC students were able to stay in the same cohort, thus aligning themselves together as a team and being able to share the Lord’s blessings with each other and with others within WMCC on a daily basis. Additionally, through the agreement between AUC and WMCC, AUC professors and instructors were used for classroom and clinical experiences with the AUC students. These 28 students are now eligible to sit for state board exams anywhere in the United States, as well as work in all types of healthcare settings. The Lord continues to bless Atlantic Union College, Inc., in spite of its difficulties and challenges.
