JOB OPPORTUNITY — Administrative Assistant

 

Job Title:                             Administrative Assistant
Status:Non-Exempt (hourly), full time
Benefits:Medical, Dental, Vision, FSA, Life Insurance, PTO, 403b Retirement Contribution
Hours:8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Thursday (some flexibility offered)
Preferred Start Date:March 1, 2026
  

Job Overview:

This position is the primary support person for the assigned department(s). The successful candidate will ensure that organizational standards are in place for the smooth operation of office procedures. Additionally, the position is responsible for all aspects of the work related to the department(s), including but not limited to:

  • Scheduling meetings and maintaining department calendar(s).
  • Assisting the director(s) with event planning
  • Managing incoming and outgoing
  • Proofreading and editing materials for grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Maintaining files, records, and databases.
  • Entering information into databases and/or spreadsheets, compiling, printing, and distributing reports, mailing labels, and other information as requested.
  • Answering phones, taking accurate messages or assisting the caller as needed in a knowledgeable and helpful manner.
  • Performing routine clerical duties.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • A member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in good standing
  • Associate’s degree or higher, or equivalent work experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in English; fluency in a secondary language is a plus
  • General office management skills
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying items up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to make decisions and effectively solve problems requiring analysis, observation, knowledge, and skills based on general precedents
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Ability to work collaboratively in varied situations and with varied personalities
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using active listening and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for the mission and work of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Able to assist multiple direct supervisors
  • Works independently without constant supervision
