SUMMARY OF POSITION
The candidate must be able to provide leadership, vision, and strategic planning in ministry to, and support for youth and young adults in the Atlantic Union. Works under the supervision of the Union president and Administrative Committee (ADCOM) in establishing mutual goals that advance ministry opportunities for youth and young adults while giving focused leadership in nurturing Seventh-day Adventist students on public college/university campuses throughout the Atlantic Union.
The candidate must be a highly spiritual person who is committed to the message and values of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Master’s degree preferred. Ordained/commissioned. Experience in evangelism.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge of principles, policies, and beliefs of the Atlantic Union and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Knowledge of church structure and organization, including committee procedures, and appropriate methods of dealing with human behavior in various circumstances and cross-cultural settings. Adaptable and able to evaluate priorities. Able to manage youth department budget effectively and prudently. Must be able to facilitate good communication among pastors, church members, and other church employees. Must possess advanced ability to effectively present facts and recommendations in oral and written form. High levels of tact, friendliness and other aspects of strongly-developed interpersonal skills and proven organizational skills are crucial. Must be a team player. Proficient in use of social networking sites, the Internet, and other means of electronic communication.
