God’s Plans — Our Hands for USA!

From July 24-29, Union Springs Academy (USA) was truly blessed by volunteers who came and worked during the third annual Campus Renovation Week. These volunteers included USA faculty and staff, students, parents, alumni from near and far, New York Conference church members, and other friends with willing hearts.

Thanks to the vision and leadership of alumnus John Cardinell, Campus Renovation Week was established in 2014, with the desire to improve the campus buildings and grounds. With USA’s rich 95-year heritage comes the reality of caring for the school’s older buildings.

This year more than $30,000 was generously donated to complete many projects. These included the installation of 15 fire safety doors for the girls’ rooms in Sunset Hall, outside lighting for the Ad building and dormitories replaced with energy-efficient LED lights, the roof over the cafeteria entrance replaced, the gazebo repaired and refinished, the cafeteria bathroom remodeled, a kitchenette installed in the boys dorm, the girls dorm chimney repaired, four new sugar maple trees planted on the lower campus, faculty homes renovated and repaired, and several other beautification projects around the campus.

Campus Renovation Week has actually turned into a springboard for projects to be worked on throughout the year. We are grateful for alumni Bob and Marilyn Rosa and Bob and Marie Putman, who have spent many hours working on such projects after renovation week.
